Who I Am!

A Nigerian-American author behind these love stories—messy, tender, full-hearted things that chase after truth and beauty in all their complicated forms. I started in journalism and mass communication, chasing stories and learning how to shape them with care. But it was always love that called to me. Not just the falling kind, but the staying kind with characters who look like me.

I write about young African women who don’t wait around for permission. Girls who fall hard, fight harder, and build their own version of soft. Sometimes they live in the real world, sometimes they live in stories with a bit of magic tucked into the seams—but always, they’re fierce, full-hearted, and unforgettable. Through them, I get to explore power, vulnerability, heritage, and the quiet rebellion of choosing joy. Their love stories aren’t passive things—they’re alive, defiant, aching, and healing all at once. A little cheeky, a little swoony, often tear-stained, and always honest.

For me, storytelling is an act of reclamation. A declaration. A soft place to land. Every book is a love letter—to girlhood, to blackness, to my roots, to second chances. After years of writing love letters to my husband, each book I write is a love letter to young African women.

When I’m not writing (or daydreaming about writing), I’m hanging out with my husband, laughing through another episode of Bluey with the kids, or scribbling plot ideas for the next book.
